Transformative full Moon in Krittika November 15

Updated: Nov 6

Full Moon in sidereal Aries, at 29 degrees of Krittika, celebrated as Kartika Purnima in India, honoring lord Shiva's triumph over Tripurasura, a three-fold demonic being.

The full Moon of November 15, illuminates areas within ourselves that require transformation & especially eradication. We may experience an epiphany or profound revelations and heightened clarity in the days leading up to the full Moon. Extra courage and drive is given to us during this time.

Uranus retrograde is conjunct the full Moon, sitting at 1 degree of Krittika in Taurus, which may lead to both awakenings and abrupt changes and surprises.

Algol, treacherous demon star of death and evil forces, is exactly conjunct Uranus, lending its dark influence to the the world. This energy may incite anger or even furry within us and others. Threading interpersonal relationships carefully and avoiding any escalation of conflict will be critical.

Krittika is ruled by powerful Agni, deity of fire and transformation, who lights up the inner light of awareness. Krittika means “the cutters” symbolizing weapons used in battle or war, but also spiritual “weapons” that help us cut away inner “evil” or ignorance.

Agni represents outer and inner fire, or flames. It is noteworthy that Agni manifests in three forms within us: speech (vak) associated with mantra yoga, prana (linked to pranayama), and intelligence (buddhi) associated with meditation.

These three Agni forms govern the three forces of our being: the body, life, and mind. Engaging in these spiritual practices ignites Agni internally, leading to a metamorphosis, which can be a challenging process. This is perhaps why sharp tools and weapons are symbols of Krittika, representing the battles that ultimately lead to liberation (Moksha).

There is an essential sacrificial element associated with Krittika & Agni, which is highlighted by the upcoming full Moon. This could involve letting go of emotional attachments, specific connections, or negative thoughts and habits. Meditating on releasing these attachments through a fire ritual is beneficial on this day or day prior even.

There could be deadly fires following this full Moon or leading up to it.

The dispositor of the full Moon, Mars, is currently debilitated in Cancer and placed 4th from the full Moon indicating domestic unrest. Mars turns retrograde on December 6, which will increase attacks and war. More on this next.
